Personal Childhood Web

My Mum
Mrs Modupe Ebunyemi Onafuwa is my mum and she is one of the people that cared and nurtured me as a child. My Mum believed in me so much as a child and she used to use her words to affirm her belief. I remember her telling me that though I am still young that I have the ability to make wise decisions. She always encouraged me to follow my dreams no matter how lofty. Though she has passed on, her words still ring loud and clear in my ears and her memory is always fresh and blessed. Mom, Sweet Mom!

My Dad
Mr Micheal Abiodun Onafuwa is my Dad . His love and care for me was mostly demonstrated by the provisions he made for my life .Though we didn’t live together much , he was sure to pay all necessary bills relating to my upkeep. I remember my dad brought humor into my life as a young child, he always had a joke that would make me smile and somehow he didn’t care showing I was his favorite child!

My Grandma
Mrs Mabel Olaide Dada is my Grandma. I lived with her till I was five years old. Memories of that childhood were fun and adventurous. Myself and mama as she was called lived in a family house which was located on a big expanse of land that had a lot of fruit trees. Most of my days were spent outdoors and this laid a foundation for my love for nature and outdoors till today. My Grandma was loving and caring for me and she is one of the greatest influence for my faith and believe in Jesus Christ.

My Sister
Wande Onafuwa is my sister. My sister always took care of me as if I were her doll. Memories of my childhood are filled with my sister taking care of me and always watching my back till date. My sister was and is still one person who is ready to share with me even when it’s obvious it won’t go round. Though we had our differences as young children, she was someone I could trust and look up to.

My Aunty
Mrs Toyin dada is my aunty. She is one of the greatest influences on my formal education. While I was enjoying the outdoors and nature of my grandma’s village home, she encouraged my parents to bring me to the city in order that I may have a good formal education when I turned five. I remember as I struggled to learn English as a child she was ready to answer all my questions in the new language and she made settling in Lagos city fun as we spent a lot of time together. Aunty T as I called her was one person that believed I would turn out well. I am still grateful to her that she made sure I left the village for the city!

  1. You have a very powerful support system, which is amazing! You seem to have the same relationship I have with my mom loving, caring, and nurturing. Without these people in our lives we wouldn't be who we are. Life is already hard, just imagine if we didn't have people around to motivate or support us through our trials and tribulations.

  2. I enjoyed reading your post and how you talked about your aunty making sure you left the village for the city! It seems to me like you had a village of people who helped you to become the person you are today! It is better when you have a strong support system and most of them is your family it makes you want to work harder.
